Legislative Life
A long and successful career serving as a representative for the people in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly as a member of the House of Representatives. A job that has been held continuously since 2011. The longest ever served by any Representative from the Constituency; this goes to illustrate the faith that the people have in the Honourable Member and the delivery of the prestigious representation from the Representative.

Youth and Women Empowerment
- 700 Young People benefited from three (3) days sensitization on peaceful coexistence and capacity building in conflict management to address the incessant youth aggression, violence and drug abuse, held at Abdusalami Abubakar Youth Centre, Minna – 22nd – 25th November 2021
- Six (6) days training and empowerment of 300 youths and women on Soya Beans for value addition. Having acquired the necessary skills, the beneficiaries/participants were presented with certificate, start-up cash and bags of soya beans.
- Empowerment process to support Niger State Women’s Micro & Small Medium Enterprises (MSME’s) by distributing Deep Freezers and Cash Gift to women beneficiaries across Political, Religious and Socio-economic class of the 25LGA of Niger state.
- Distribution of 8,500 Sewing and 8,500 Grinding Machines, 2,250 Freezers, 100 Vulcanizing Machine, 100 Hair Dresser Driers Machine, 5o Welding Machine to more than 10,000 beneficiaries in the past 10 years
- 200 youth and 30 women were trained in various skills acquisitions through National Directorate of Employment with the sum of #50,000 each as starter pack.

- 17th December, 2021- Donated a total of 1,500 bags of 25kg Rice for distribution to IDPs in Shiroro, Munya and Rafi Local Government Area of Niger state to celebrate this Christmas season.
- Contribution Of Food Items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPS) In Niger State – Rice, Maize, Millet and Noodles – October 1, 2021
- May 1, 2021 – 100 bags of 50kg rice donated to support the welfare of Shiroro and Munya Local Government Area Internally Displaced Person’s (IDP’s) camp, Niger State.
- One hundred (100) Persons with #20,000 each to enable them start a small-scale business in order to avoid being subjected to street begging.
- Two-wheel chairs to those who sustain spinal cord injuries, so as to ease the affairs of mobility for their living
- Surgery of two persons to be carried out at IBB specialist Hospital.
- Scholarship to PWDs who showed interest in furthering their education
- We have, through BAGO Foundation as facilitated by Abdullahi Yakubu Salihu students with disability support scheme, given out token to some physical challenged students in Chanchaga Federal Constituency, Niger state. We have paid their PTA Levies, Examination Fees and given scholarship support Eighty (80) physically challenged students in basic schools and three (3) of them in Tertiary Institution. We also provided learning materials and wheel chairs for the physically challenged students.
- Procured eleven (11) Trailer loads of Rice for distribution iduring COVID-19 lockdown.
- Relief Materials to traders after Bida Market Fire, Nigerian Correction Centre, Orphanage Homes and Rehabilitation Centre.
- One hundred (100) Widows/Less Privilege were selected and empowered with the sum of Twenty Thousand Naira (#20,000) and a wrapper each to start up a micro-business. – Facilitated by Unity Group’s Coordinator Comr. Zubairu Bala Kuta.

- Sponsored over 200 people to performed both Hajj and lesser Hajj.
- Provision of 2 Brand New Toyota Hummer Bus Ambulance to Minna and Tunga Central Mosque, Minna.

Health
- Primary Health Care Centre, Albishiri, Bida Road in Minna South Ward was constructed and has since started operations in full capacity.
- Proposed Re-Construction of UBE Primary Health Care Centre, at Sabon Gari Ward that was engulfed by fire disaster few years ago.
- In addition, is the Renovation of Primary Health Care Center at Sauka Kahuta in Tudun Wada South respectively to enhance effectiveness and service delivery.
- Consistent Distributions of Drugs and Hospital Materials to all Primary Health Care Centre across Eleven wards.
- Consistent Distribution of Mother care materials with the sum of N2,000. So far, over 5,500 pregnant and nursing mothers has benefited from this initiative across Chanchaga Federal Constituency.
- Provision of 500 pieces of Eye Glasses to Optical Center of Minna General Hospital to visually impaired persons.
- Free Medical Services by Hon. Bago in conjunction with Federal Medical Centre Bida which includes among others: Optical services, High Blood pressure, Diabetic etc.
- From 2011 to date, over 20,000 people have benefitted so far from Bago Foundation Health Support initiative based on the cases of their ailment; Surgery Support ranging from N500,000 N300,000 and N200,000, Other health issues ranging from N100,000 N50,000 N20,000 and N10,000 respectively have also been taken care of.
- Bago Foundation under the directive of Hon. Bago has placed a paramount attention to people with health issues, by setting aside some funds to take care of their medical needs on monthly basis through payment of Hospital Bills, Surgery issues and purchase of Drugs. Maternity issues are also given a great priority.

Agriculture
- 3rd September 2022 – New sets of 500 farmers (including youths and women) drawn from various associations from the 25 LGA’s, were trained and empowered with farming items such as 400packs of Pendimethalin Herbicide, 400packs of Selective Rice, 500packs of Selective Maize, 200 Pumping Machines with Inlet and Outlet Holes, 400 Knap Sack Sprayers and Cash Support of N10,000,000 (Ten Million Naira).
- 18th day of September 2021 – Another set of farmers numbering 300 in Chanchaga Federal Constituency, Niger state were sensitized on seasonal farming and empowered with Water Pumping Machines, Sprayers, Herbicides, Pesticides and Cash Gifts.
- 21st November, 2020 – Some groups of farmers were sensitized on Irrigation Farming and Empowered with Water Pumping Machines, Knapsack Sprayers and Cash Gifts of #100,000 to takeoff and purchase their required herbicides and pesticides

- September 21, 2021 – As Member of House of Representatives’ Committee on Anti-Corruption, I was in attendance at the opening ceremony of a two-day capacity building retreat with National Assembly and ICPC Board/Committee Directors with the theme, “Corruption, IFFS and Financing for National Development,” held on Tuesday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
- 22nd – 25th, 2021 –At the Training organised for Members of House Committee on Public Account, by Specialized Procurement Audit Limited in conjunction with Andersen, on Finance and Accounting for Oil and Gas; and Supply Chain Essentials and International Oil and Trading Price Risk Management, in Kigali, Rwanda (Nov. 22nd – 25th, 2021)

- Mohammed Bago Chaired One Day Public Hearing: A Bill for An Act to establish the Maritime Security Agency to promote Maritime security and to promote other things, for the establishment of the “Maritime Security Agency”, charged with the ability of providing security and safety information and communication facilities for all categories on the Nigerian Maritime Industry communication facilities for all categories of the Nigerian Industry and other Related matters (HB,968).
- The House of Representatives Committee on Maritime Safety, Education and Administration under the leadership of Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago conducted a; One Day Investigative Hearing on “Need to Investigate Alleged Fictitious Contract Awards and Gross Management of Billions of Naira by NIMASA.
- April 15, 2021 – On oversight function in the Niger Delta region as member of House of Representatives ad Hoc Committee on Oil Spillage
- The Chairman, House of Reps committee on Maritime Safety, Administration and Education, Hon. Mohammed Bago and members of the Committee arrived Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron in continuation of the Committee’s oversight function. On arrival, the Committee was received by the sector of the academy and Hon Mohammed Umaru Bago expected a Guard of the Honor that is mounted on their honor. Afterwards, the committee will proceed on other Maritime formation under the purview of NIMASA across the Niger Delta region.
